My Story
I was blessed to come to Christ at a young age, in the 5th grade. I remember hearing the call and feeling convinced I must accept Christ if this is the Truth. My testimony is marked with ups and downs as God taught me what it means to pursue Him (Phil. 2:12), but my aim has always been to move toward God. In college, I initially struggled to believe that God's truth outweighed my desires, and Psalm 32 quickly became evident to me. ("For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.") By God's grace, he continued his work on me, and the rest of Psalm 32 has been prevalent in my life. ("Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.)
My bent is to rely on my understanding, efforts, and ambition. This is not to say that ambition is inherently wrong, but the Lord weighs the heart (Prov 21:2). I constantly need to reorient my heart to truth and first work to present myself as a living sacrifice to God. Romans 12:1-2.
