Suffering

Series: Empowered & Entrusted

Chase Haney | March 30, 2025

This week, we look at Acts 5:41, where the early believers rejoiced in suffering—not because it was easy, but because it made them more like Jesus. Their boldness in the face of opposition reveals what following Christ truly requires, tests how we view Him, and separates true followers from those sitting on the fence. When suffering happens to the Church, it refines, reveals, and reminds us who we really are.

Discussion Questions:

  1. What would prevent you from following Christ? (I'm willing to follow Jesus, unless ___ happens)

  2. How do you truly perceive Jesus? Does your life reflect that perspective?

  3. Do you view suffering as an opportunity to steward well?

  4. What aspect of your life are you hesitating or riding the fence?
