First Steps of Following

Series: More Than A Name

Larry Cotton | October 20, 2024

Today, we look at the first steps of following Jesus. When He began His ministry, He called His disciples in various ways. Some followed after John the Baptist proclaimed, "Behold the Lamb of God." Others, like Philip, were called directly by Jesus. Still, others came through friends sharing the good news, drawn as God met them where they were.

Discussion Questions

1. Jesus always meets us where we are with an invitation to β€œcome and see.” (John 1:39) Who are the people around you to whom you could extend that invitation?

2. Each of us have needs, seen and unseen, that only Jesus can meet. How are you looking to Him to take care of you as you follow Him? (John 1:43)

3. As we experience Jesus and Who He is, we grow in our love for Him. How do you actively share Him with the people that He has placed around you? (John 1:51)
